python-nlopt software package provides nonlinear optimization library -- Python bindings, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-nlopt
python-nlopt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-nlopt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-nlopt *
You will get with python-nlopt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
